Photo Description

In this photo I can see an african-american girl on the upper left, this girl probably has some illness, because I can see that in the middle there is a blood pressure tester connected to her finger, also I see that she is on a stretcher of a hospital, so probably she is on a hospital being tested to cure her illness. Also the caption says "I trust that the doctors will find the cure to my illness", with this caption I can
confirm that the girl is sick but she is quite because she trusts on the doctors.
Related with the IB topic I can say that she prefers the traditional medicine, because to cure her illness she is using machines like the blood tester, in a hospital, with doctors and other typical things of the traditional medicine. On the contrary, it could bee using alternative medicine to cure her illness like acupuncture, ayurveda, massage or yoga, but she prefers traditional medicine.
The medicine in the United States, specifically the traditional medicine is really good, it is considered one of the best on all the world, because of the technological advances that USA has, as contrary of Chile that the medicine is not so good (public medicine) and if it is good it is really expensive (private medicine).

My favourite day of the Europe Trip

The day started early in the morning about 5,30 when we left the school to the Arturo Merino Benitez airport of Santiago, Chile. There, after we did all th errands, we got in the plane with Edinburgh as our destination. Before we stopped over in the airports of Buenos Aires and Amsterdam, and after 20 hours of traveling we landed in Edinburgh.

The first impressions of this city were great, the buildings were medieval in one part of the city, because the city is divided in the modern and in the antique part. Then, after 15 minutes by bus we arrived to the hotel located in the center of the antique part, in the Royal Mile. There we took a bath and we rested some time. Then we had some free time in the afternoon to tour the city, I was impressed because of the buildings, everything was like the past, with castles and things like that, also it were very interesting the people of the city because they were very different to chilean people, they were very tall and blond, different to typical chilean that is smaller and with black hair. After walking this beautifull streets and taking some photos we went back to the hotel to have dinner. At 9.30 pm we had a meety where teachers gave us free time to get to know Edinburgh in the night, some students decided to go to sleep because it was a very tiring day. I went to the city and there I visited some bar's and I walked around the city. Finally we came back to the hotel to sleep, to rest, because the next day we visited the Edinburgh Castle.

Lifestyle in Edinburgh

Lifestyle in Edinburgh

A beautiful city full of history

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland, and is the second must populated city in Scotland after Glasgow, it has a population of 477.660 inhabitants. This city is divided in two parts, the ancient side, that was build in the medieval times and the newest side, that is the comercial part.

¿Do you no how is the lifestyle in Edinburgh?. This city is known because of his easy-going people. The tourist are welcome in here, also here the people is very respectful, always they give the sit to the ancient people in the subway and let the people pass before in the line at the checkout.

Because of their easy-going and respectful attitude they have a very happy life in which they work really hard in the day but they also have time to share and enjoy with other people, this is why the night life in Edinburgh is very entertaining.

Also because of all the green areas. the people do very much sports like running, trekking and cycling, but some times is difficult to do sport because of the weather, because in Edinburgh rains to much, in winter and also some times in summer.

I talk with Gregorio Aris, a inhabitants of Edinburgh that refers to the lifestyle in this city, and he said that he love to live in Edinburgh, because is perfect in all the things, like order, sports, weather (in his opinion) and the people.

Clearly, Edinburgh is a lovely city, with many things to do and to have a high quality of life.

Dear Augusto,

All here in Paris is awesome! Yesterday I visited the Opera House and I heard chilling things, about the famous Phantom of the Opera, all people here in the theatre now the story, many people affirm have seen it, also some people said that a person was killed by the phantom. A dancer tell me that she saw it, she describes the phantom like a very white person whit skeletal aspect, also said that the phantom appear one night that she was practicing alone, because she has a presentation the other day, the phantom was in the box in the top of the theatre, it was very traumatic to the dancer.

It was a really good day full of stories and myths,I learnt very much about the story of the Opera House. I recommend you to visit the Opera House if you come to Paris.

Describing Photographs

                       Image

In this picture I can see some kids having fun as they are playing with water guns in a poor place.

In the foreground is the water that splashes after being launched for the water guns, and also a boy hiding of the water behind his water gun.

In the middle is a girl and 2 boys also playing with water, the boys are on a wall, with his water guns.

In the background is another boy on the same wall, also with his water gun, I see also some poor houses in a narrow passage.

According to what I see in the picture I can conclude that they are some children of low social class and you see that the houses that are behind are ancient and destroyed by time, other evidence that are of low social class its that they like to have fun with water pistols, which is currently hardly used because they prefer to use the technology. Despite all this looks like fun without having many things.

"The real meaning of Tattooing"

"Tattos go beyond art and fashion; they reflect deep-rooted cultural and ethnic heritage"

"The real meaning of Tattooing"

I agree with the thesis, because in many cases it is thought that tattoos are a symbol of beauty and meaning do not understand any more than look pretty in the body, but this goes far beyond, in many parts of the world especially in tribes and ancestors used tattooing was to define a hierarchy or to scare the enemy in the battles, is a form to identificate and win respect between the people of theirs cultures .
For example the Maori tribe in New Zealand used the tattos to scare the enemy and in signal of respect, the person that have more tattos it means that have more experience than the other of his culture, they start tattoing the childrens at 8 years old and they modified, as you have more experience and more power in the tribe.
At present in some neighborhoods, usually in people marginalized populations tattoos to mark their territory or to identify within a specific group, also this tatto gives you importance  in this crew(group of people of that neighborhoods).
Also currently tattooed on people to remember a deceased relative or friend, to always carry in your skin, lightening somehow have lost pain.
That's why tattoos go beyond a simple art or a way to make drawings on your skin, there may be people who are tattooed only for its beauty but originally the tattoos they had a more important undertone that beauty.

Then I took a tour of the savanna, it was exciting, I saw many lions, but all the more shocking was to see the elephants so close to me. Finally in the evening we ate together at a restaurant, the food was good, but I prefer the Chilean lol. There I sang happy birthday and gave me the shirt of the South African rugby team. It was a very good birthday, all very different than it is usually in my country Chile, a great experience celebrating a birthday on a completely different culture. It was a very good birthday.

Cutting of trees a constant problem in Chile

Sebastian Merino, Green Reporter
Tuesday April 30,2013

Viña del Mar - The constant cutting of trees in Chile worries CONAF(National Forestry Corporation), there are over 20 companies engaged in the cutting of trees,in 10 years the trees will disappear. This affects not only biodiversity but also directly affects quality of life of all the inhabitants of Chile

The numbers are worrying Chilean forests, in recent years the growth of trees has decreased by 25% due to the constant cutting of trees, used without any restriction or law regulating this practice.

The CONAF have made of his displeasure by sending a letter to 12 of the most important companies that cut trees in Chile. This letter is mainly spoken of the damage they are causing to the environment by over-exploitation of their companies, and the damage it could cause in the future not only to the flora and fauna, human beings also due to decreased photosynthesis and accumulation of CO2 in the air.

Ignacio Alberto Puch Carcamo, environmental expert at the University of Chile said: "The indiscriminate cutting of trees is a serious problem that affects society gradually nature is destroyed by the misuse and exploitation of human beings".Cristian Mena, the manager of "Trees Mena SA" defended saying: "Our company has all the necessary permits and experts in the field to have a good performance without going to bring any law."

CONAF called on all volunteers to present this Friday, May 2 at Cerro Aconcagua to make a massive tree planting in order to end the deforestation. Enough will they be laws regulating cutting trees in Chile? or how will implement reforms necessary to protect our biodiversity is affected daily by these companies do not have any kind of conscience?.
